Social advertising #Goals
Let’s be real, our main #Goal is to increase sales so that our businesses make the kind of money that gives us the lifestyle we’re striving for. Fair?
But, getting there is a process to getting there. Whatever stage your business is at, you’ve got to be a little bit realistic with where your target audience is ‘at’ and you’ve got to work out how you can take them to that next step in their journey towards a purchase.
With data and some insight, you’ll make it happen. Stay consistent. You’ve got this. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.
Goal 1: Brand Awareness
Your first goal needs to be brand awareness. If your audience has never heard of you, they’re not going to buy from you (sorry). Some marketing research suggests that people need to see or hear of your brand 7 times before they will consider making a purchase. Repetition is one of the keys to being seen in the first place. Once you’ve been seen, you’re a big step in the door.
Creating an emotional connection is extremely important at this stage. Without emotion, your messaging won’t stick. This is why you need to have a compelling brand story.
Goal 2: Consideration
Once you’ve got people’s attention, you need them to start thinking. At this point, it goes beyond the emotional pull, and it starts to become cognitive. You’ll need to think about all the reasons they would or wouldn’t make a decision. Do your homework. Get clear on what your competitors are offering. And then think about how you can offer a better offer.
Consideration stage will take longer for some buyers more than others and for some brands more than others. Unpacking a range of buyer personas will ensure you’re ticking all the right boxes.
Goal 3: Conversion
At this stage of the buyer journey, your potential buyer has loved your story and they have weighed up allllll of the things about your products or services that are important to them. And finally, they’re in a position to make a purchase.
The stars have aligned, it’s your time to BE THERE IN THIS MOMENT! Get them over the line!
At this stage, you need to close the deal, quickly. Whatever that takes. If it’s AfterPay, if it’s a discount for first-time buyers, if it’s free shipping… work out those levers and make them known. And make sure your website is optimised to process that payment baby! #ChaChing. Make that cash register ring.
Sound like a plan?
Be patient, it takes time! Occasionally you’ll hear of brands that strike it lucky overnight, but for most, it’s trial and error and a LOT of hard work. That’s because social media is not a silver bullet.
